SOREND Poster
Designing an award winning poster for a networking event featuring 20+ employers such as Bloomberg, Verizon, and L3Harris

The Challenge
The Student Organization Reception & Employer Networking Dinner (SOREND) is an event where 20 employers and 22 student organizations come together for a night of information sharing, networking, and exploring potential partnerships. As one of the representatives for the Rutgers Solar Car team, I was tasked with creating an informational and engaging poster display to effectively share our club's mission, partnership opportunities, and future goals.
The Solution
As part of the poster display I wanted to feature our designs for our upcoming car, Hyperion. However, at the current stage in Hyperion's design, the car was nothing more than CAD drawings. To solve this, I took it upon myself to learn Blender, a 3D computer graphics software, where I would be able to transform the 3D model of Hyperion into a polished render.

Incorporating this render into the final poster required a strategic layout:
Visual Flow: I utilized the tri-color line as a graphic element to separate club information from car specifications
Scannability: Clearly labeled text boxes feature our brand colors and fonts, making the information easy to digest
Highlights: To highlight some of our past achievements and the size of our club, I also added pictures from various events and our executive board team picture
For the final presentation, we physically cut out these elements and backed them with foam board to give the poster actual depth.
The Results
Beyond sparking multiple conversations with employers, Rutgers Solar Car was given the Best Poster Display award, recognizing the thought, creativity, and effort put into our display.
